February keeps Gangtok in winter's grip (3-12°C) but adds the spectacular Losar (Tibetan/Sikkimese New Year) celebrations — usually mid-February. Monastery mask dances, folk performances on MG Marg, and community feasting make this Gangtok's most culturally rich month. Kanchenjunga views remain sharp. Tsomgo Lake (40km) may be frozen or snow-covered — a dramatic sight if the road is open.
