August continues July's highway-season energy. Temperatures at 14-26°C are the warmest all year. The Bhaga valley is lush. Lahaul's signature crops — peas, potatoes, and hops — are growing. Independence Day celebrations reflect Lahaul's border-area patriotism. The Manali-Leh traffic flow is at maximum. Keylong's hotels and restaurants operate at peak capacity, which still means limited options.
