March warms Chittorgarh to 15-34°C. Holi (usually March) in Rajasthan is serious business — colour, music, and community celebration that makes metropolitan Holi look timid. The fort hosts its own celebrations, and gulal on 600-year-old stone is an image that sticks.

Sit on the courtyard outside if the weather permits — sandstone walls of the fort frame the meal. The fort closes at 6 PM, so plan a late lunch (1-2 PM) rather than dinner.
