January at Siddhatek runs at clean post-festival operational tempo. Siddhivinayak (the accomplishment-granting form of Ganesha — sought by saint Vishnu before his battle with the demons Madhu and Kaitabh) sits on a small Bhima river island in Karjat tehsil of Ahmednagar district, 100km from Pune via the Daund route. This is the only Ashtavinayak with a right-trunk murti (siddhi direction, opposite to the standard left-trunk Ganesh form) — pilgrims who specifically time their yatra to include the right-trunk darshan come here as the unique stop. The 1810 reconstruction by Punyashlok Ahilyabai Holkar — the Maratha Malwa queen who restored Hindu temples across northern India — defines the present structure. Daytime 14-29C, nights 8-10C. The Bhima river at clean post-monsoon flow; the small fishing-boat crossing from Shidoli (the road-end ghat on the Pune-facing river bank) runs ₹30-50 per pilgrim, 5-minute crossing. Sankashti Chaturthi early month brings Tuesday density. Combine optionally with Bhigwan Bird Sanctuary 30km west for an extension stop.
