Surf at Butler Bay is stormwater-sized and dangerous. White Surf and Whisper Wave waterfall trails are impassable - the ground is saturated mud and the rope-assist sections are washed out. Hut Bay operates on backup generators with 8-hour daily power cuts. Mobile network beyond Hut Bay is non-existent and BSNL signal in town is patchy. Medical evacuation logistics in July make the trip risky on every front.
