Hemkund Sahib is a Sikh gurdwara dedicated to Guru Gobind Singh at 4,633m — one of the highest pilgrimage sites in India. Built beside a glacial lake in the Chamoli district, it is reachable only between early June and early October, and then only by a 6km walk from Ghangaria. The same trailhead serves the Valley of Flowers — most travellers do both in a single 3-day window. The shrine opens for pilgrimage from early June each year; it is closed and buried in snow the rest of the year.

Hemkund Sahib is a Sikh gurdwara dedicated to Guru Gobind Singh at 4,633m — one of the highest pilgrimage sites in India. Built beside a glacial lake in the Chamoli district, it is reachable only between early June and early October, and then only by a 6km walk from Ghangaria. The same trailhead serves the Valley of Flowers — most travellers do both in a single 3-day window. The shrine opens for pilgrimage from early June each year; it is closed and buried in snow the rest of the year.

4,329m पर तारे के आकार का सिख तीर्थ, Dasam Granth के अनुसार गुरु Gobind Singh के पूर्व जन्म की स्मृति में। मई के अंत से अक्टूबर की शुरुआत तक खुला; सर्दियों में बर्फ़ से ढका रहता है।
गुरुद्वारे के पास हिमनद झील — श्रद्धालु इसके लगभग जमे पानी में अनुष्ठान स्नान करते हैं। सात चोटियाँ झील को घेरती हैं, जिससे इस स्थान को 'Hemkund' (बर्फ़ की झील) नाम मिला।
गुरुद्वारे के पास छोटा हिंदू मंदिर, युद्ध के बाद Lakshman की यहाँ तपस्या से जुड़ी Ramayana की कथा से संबंधित। सिख और हिंदू दोनों तीर्थयात्री इन्हें एक साथ देखते हैं।

UNESCO World Heritage site since 2005. Open July-Sep when the alpine meadow carpets over with 600+ flowering species. Same base camp as Hemkund (Ghangaria) — add a day to do both.
The 7km Pulna-to-Bhyundar stretch runs alongside the Bhyundar Ganga river through cascading waterfalls, cold springs, wild rose shrubs, and rhododendron stands that turn pink-and-crimson April-June. It's the gentlest section of the Hemkund trek (200m elevation gain over 7km). Day-hikers from Govindghat can do it as a half-day round trip without committing to Ghangaria.
Alpine meadows at 3,200-3,500m where the Bhyundar valley widens into glacial moraine before the final Hemkund ascent. Brahma Kamal (the state flower of Uttarakhand) blooms here July-August in the same window as Valley of Flowers, but without the ₹150 entry ticket and crowd. Bharal (blue sheep) and musk deer sometimes visible at dawn.

Alaknanda-Lakshman Ganga संगम पर सड़क-शीर्ष गुरुद्वारा — Joshimath/Rishikesh से आने वाले तीर्थयात्रियों के लिए पहला गरम भोजन, 13 कि.मी. की Ghangaria चढ़ाई से पहले आखिरी भोजन। यात्रा सीज़न (मई-अक्टूबर) में राजमा-चावल, दाल-रोटी के साथ मुफ़्त लंगर चलता है — वही निःस्वार्थ सेवा का भाव जो Hemkund में है। मुफ़्त शयनगृह सुविधा भी।
Tip: ट्रेक से एक रात पहले पहुँचें और गुरुद्वारे के शयनगृह में ठहरें — एक होटल रात की बचत होती है और सुबह 5 बजे ट्रेल पर निकल सकते हैं, जो Hemkund-और-वापस एक दिन में करने और दो दिन में बाँटने का अंतर है।

Tip: उतरने से पहले खाएँ, पहुँचने के बाद नहीं — लंगर जल्दी खुलता है और ऊँचाई पर गर्म खिचड़ी किसी भी ऊर्जा बार से अधिक शक्ति देती है। चाय धीरे-धीरे पिएँ; 4600 मीटर पर जल्दी घूँटने से मतली हो सकती है।

Govindghat में Hotel Bhagat का इन-हाउस रेस्तरां — वह सड़क-सिरा जहाँ तीर्थयात्री सुबह 4 बजे Pulna की शुरुआत से पहले रात रुकते हैं। बहु-व्यंजन लेकिन गढ़वाली थालियाँ (काफुली, उपलब्ध होने पर झांगोरा खीर) सही विकल्प हैं। ट्रेक के नाश्ते के लिए सुबह 5 बजे खुलता है।
Tip: रात को ही परांठे पैक ऑर्डर करें — रसोई उन्हें ट्रेक के लिए पन्नी में लपेट देती है। सुबह 5 बजे की नाश्ता सेवा केवल तभी शुरू होती है जब आप शाम 9 बजे तक रिसेप्शन को बताएँ; अन्यथा सुबह 6:30 बजे शुरू होती है। शराब नहीं; यह गुरुद्वारा शहर है।

Ghangaria का लंबे समय से चला आ रहा निजी होटल-रेस्तरां (3,050 मी.), Gurudwara लंगर और ट्रेक के थकान के बीच चार बैठकर खाने के इनडोर विकल्पों में से एक। ट्रेकर के दाम पर ताज़ी थाली, साथ ही Hemkund शिखर के दिन के लिए पैक-लंच काउंटर। यात्रा सीज़न मई-अक्टूबर में भोर से रात 9 बजे तक खुला।
Tip: Hemkund शिखर की सुबह 4 बजे की शुरुआत के लिए रात पहले ही पैक-लंच ऑर्डर करें — रसोई रोज़ाना 80-100 पैक थालियाँ बनाती है और शाम 7 बजे तक जगह भर जाती है। पाँच सितारा रसोई स्वच्छता की अपेक्षा न करें; काम चलाऊ, गरम, ऊँचाई पर कैलोरी-भरपूर भोजन की अपेक्षा करें। नकद पसंदीदा; UPI अनिश्चित।

Tip: दोपहर के भोजन पर दाल-चावल या थाली ऑर्डर करें (बड़ी मात्रा में पकाया, सबसे ताज़ा); रात 7 बजे के बाद चाइनीज़ से बचें जब रसोई बंद होने लगती है। शाम 4 बजे चाय के साथ पकोड़े — Valley of Flowers से लौटने के बाद घाँघरिया की मानक रस्म।
