Current structure rebuilt 1729 by queen Ahilyabai Holkar of Indore in black-stone Maratha style on a 44,000 sq ft footprint. Open 5.30am-9.30pm; no entry fee; men remove shirts to enter the inner sanctum. Mahashivratri (Feb-Mar) + Shravan Mondays (Jul-Aug) bring 50,000+ pilgrims/day.
