July opens the only trekking window, aligned with Shravan Purnima (full moon of Shravan month, sacred to Lord Shiva). The glaciers are sufficiently melted but still navigable. Temperatures at lower elevations are warm (12–18°C); at altitude (5,227m), frigid (−5 to 5°C). The 75-foot Shivalingam is accessible. Nain Sarovar lake is ice-free. This is the ONLY month the trek is possible.
