Peak crowds
July is one of Shrikhand Mahadev's busiest months. The score rates conditions — weather, access, value — not how many people you'll share them with. Only open Jul–Aug due to snow; specialist pilgrimage trek with minimal crowd despite access window.
Peak yatra opens (Shravan Purnima full moon). Glaciers accessible. Full support active.. July opens the only trekking window, aligned with Shravan Purnima (full moon of Shravan month, sacred to Lord Shiva). The glaciers are sufficiently melted but still navigable. Temperatures at lower elevations are warm (12–18°C); at altitude (5,227m), frigid (−5 to 5°C). The 75-foot Shivalingam is accessible. Nain Sarovar lake is ice-free. This is the ONLY month the trek is possible.
