Cultural Context
Vrindavan is where Lord Krishna spent his childhood β one of Hinduism's holiest towns. Thousands of temples, constant kirtan (devotional singing), and a large ISKCON presence. International Hare Krishna devotees are common. The town has a mystical, ecstatic energy. Monkeys are everywhere and can be aggressive.
What to Wear
Conservative dress required. Many temples require traditional Indian clothing (dhoti/kurta for men, saree/salwar for women). No leather items. Remove shoes at all temples. Cover head at some temples.
