Rangat in August
Andaman & Nicobar Islands, India
Rangat in August is July without much improvement. Rainfall settles at 440-490mm, the Andaman Trunk Road has 3-4 chronic problem stretches in the Jarawa Reserve that close intermittently as new August landslides feed off saturated ground. The Amkunj Beach mangrove boardwalk floods at high tide. The Dhani Nallah waterfall trail remains impassable. The ATR convoy from Jirkatang runs for resident traffic only with same-day cancellation rates above 50 percent. Rangat town hotels operate at minimum staff - 2-3 rooms per property at most. BSNL signal weak in town and absent beyond. The Diglipur ferry from Aerial Bay is also patchy. Wait three months for clean conditions.
