July is the deepest monsoon month on the central Konkan and Raigad. Rainfall averages 1000-1200mm for the month alone at Pali — among the heaviest single-month totals anywhere on the Konkan stretch. Khopoli ghat routes flood routinely during the heaviest spells, the Mumbai-Pune Expressway sees fog and aquaplaning warnings on the Khandala-Lonavala descent, and the Pali state highway sees genuine 1-3 day closures when river crossings overtop. Konkan ferry routes from the Mumbai-side are off entirely through July. The Ballaleshwar temple stays open but darshan numbers fall to monthly lows; the local Ashadi-Ekadashi pilgrim flow (Jul 4 2026, Pandharpur Wari) draws Maharashtrian devotees south toward Pandharpur, not toward Ashtavinayak. For Pali specifically, the access risk outweighs any green-landscape photographic upside. Wait for September peak or push to October clarity.
