Why Special
Janjira Fort is India's strongest coastal fortress โ built by the Siddis (African-origin rulers) in the 15th century, it was never conquered by the Marathas, Portuguese, or British. The fort sits on an island in the Arabian Sea, reached by boat from Rajapuri jetty. Murud Beach alongside is long and clean, and the Nawab's palace on shore tells the Siddi legacy.
