Signature: Unlimited Kathiyawadi-Gujarati thali
Founded 1938 — 87 years of unlimited Kathiyawadi thali next to Junagadh railway station. The Kathiyawadi style is spicier and less sweet than mainland Gujarati; Geeta Lodge is the city's reference for it. ₹150 unlimited thali, served fast (3 minutes to first plate), no AC, communal seating. The lodge isn't a hotel anymore — only the dining hall runs. Tripadvisor 4.3.
Tip: Arrive between 11:30am and 2pm for lunch, or 7pm and 9:30pm for dinner — outside those windows it's closed. The Kathiyawadi thali changes daily (lasaniya batata, ringan no olo, sev tameta rotate); ask the server what's on. Buttered bajra rotla is the must-add upgrade in winter. Cash and UPI both work.

Tripadvisor 4.4 — Junagadh's reference paratha-shop. Pulls the railway-station-side and Gir-bound traveller crowd for cheap, hot meals. The thepla counter (Gujarati flatbread variant) makes them locally relevant, not just a Punjabi import.
Tip: Morning (7-10am) for parathas; evening (6-9pm) for thepla. The aloo paratha is the order; paneer is fine but you can get it anywhere. Pair with masala chaas, not lassi (lassi here is sweet by default and overrides the paratha flavour).
Signature: Kathiyawadi unlimited thali
Tripadvisor 4.4, ranked top-5 in Junagadh. Near Sakkarbaug Zoo, opposite Sardar Patel Bhavan. The Kathiyawadi thali at Patel is the alternative when Geeta Lodge runs full; quality is comparable, price is slightly higher, the AC sit-down is the trade-up. Chakri (deep-fried spiral) is the signature side — Junagadh-specific, not on most Gujarati menus elsewhere.
Tip: Order the chakri specifically — it's the dish that distinguishes Junagadh from Ahmedabad/Vadodara thali. Lunch slot 12-3pm is the move. Banquet hall doubles up as wedding venue — Saturday evenings get loud.

Tripadvisor #1 of 50+ in Junagadh, 4.3 rating. The Kathiyawadi-Punjabi-Gujarati combination thali means out-of-state travellers (Gir National Park visitors mostly) can sample regional food without giving up the comfort dishes. Wins for families with mixed regional preferences.
Tip: Lunch (12-3pm) is the sharper meal. The puran poli is the regional dish to focus on, not the Punjabi side which is more generic. Dinner gets busy with Gir tourists 7:30-9pm; arrive earlier.

Santoor is one of the older multi-cuisine sit-downs in Junagadh — 40 years on the MG Road stretch. Where locals take family for non-thali dinners; the Indo-Chinese and Punjabi sections are competent rather than excellent, but the consistency is the value. Tripadvisor 3.9-4.0 range.
Tip: Service slows during weekend evening rush — book or arrive before 7:30pm. Skip the continental section. The paneer tikka with butter naan is the most-ordered combo; the chinese is decent but not destination-worthy.

Tripadvisor 4.6, top-2 ranked in Junagadh. Open-air dining under a banyan tree on Hotel Lion King's grounds — most upmarket dinner venue in the city. Kitchen handles multi-cuisine; tandoor section is the strongest. Wins for Gir National Park travellers who want a calmer evening than the Mullawada/Motibaug clatter.
Tip: Outdoor banyan-tree seating is the booking — request specifically. October-March is the right window for outdoor dining; April-June is too hot. Skip the Italian section. Mocktails are an unusually strong section.
