Diu in June
Daman & Diu, India
Monsoon arrives mid-June, making beaches unsafe and skies persistently overcast
June in Diu coincides with the year's peak Arabian Sea cyclone window. Vayu (June 2019) and Biparjoy (June 2023) both formed in this month and forced UT-administration evacuations of low-lying Saurashtra coast settlements. Even in cyclone-free Junes, rainfall hits 200-250mm and the Arabian Sea runs 3-5m wave heights — Nagoa, Chakratirth, Ghoghla beaches all under Coast Guard red-flag for the entire month. Alliance Air 9I623 timetables get re-cut at short notice on storm days. Diu Fort and Naida Caves stay open but are wet, exposed, and visitor-empty. Hotel rates at year-low (50 percent below February); the licensed-bar economy thins to local trade only. The trip you came for — the heritage island, the beach swims, the photogenic light — cannot happen. Plan October minimum.
