Diu in July
Daman & Diu, India
Monsoon rains and rough seas make beaches unusable in July
July in Diu is the year's wettest stretch. Rainfall 350-400mm over 22-25 wet days, the Arabian Sea sits in active monsoon, and Coast Guard maintains red-flag swim restriction across all beaches. Alliance Air 9I623 thins from six rotations a week to three or four through the month, and at-short-notice cancellations are routine on storm days. Diu Fort's seaward bastions get the heaviest rain on the island and the walk along the rampart is unsafe. Naida Caves drain to the floor through cracks in the rock — the inner chambers flood. The licensed-bar economy survives on local Gujarat weekenders who drive in regardless, but the broader trip — heritage, photography, beach — does not work. Hotel rates at year-low. Push to mid-October.
