Daman in February
Daman & Diu, India
Go in February — peak season with dry skies and calm seas ideal for fort exploration and coastal walks, but expect moderate crowds and book accommodation early.
Peak crowds
February is one of Daman's busiest months. The score rates conditions — weather, access, value — not how many people you'll share them with. Peak Nov–Feb when coastal weather is coolest; Apr–Jun is heat-driven quiet, monsoon Jul–Sep heavily avoided.
February in Daman is the cleanest of the cool months. Rainfall averages under 5mm, humidity at 60 percent, daytime 18-30C. The Damanganga estuary low tide opens daily mud-flat birding strips — flamingos visit Nani Daman backwaters in the second half. Moti Daman fort walls run 2km of accessible rampart with the lighthouse at the south end (₹10 climb, 9am-6pm); the Bom Jesus golden altar is best lit between 4-5pm when the western windows catch sun. Friday-Sunday Gujarat traffic builds — Surat to Daman is 100km on NH48 and 2 hours mid-week, 4 hours Friday evening. Sea-facing hotel rates (Mirasol, Sandy, Cidade) hold January peak through to February 15, then start sliding. Spice Galleon at Gold Beach Resort and Hotel Mirasol's sea-view restaurant are the better Portuguese-influenced kitchens; both take cards. Devka Beach evening shacks run 6pm-11pm.
