Bungee Jumping in Rishikesh: The Only Guide That Tells You the Truth

# Bungee Jumping in Rishikesh
India's highest commercial bungee is at Jumping Heights, Mohan Chatti — 83 metres above a rocky gorge. It is terrifying, safe, and over in 4 seconds.
The Jump
83m free fall. New Zealand-designed, operated since 2010. Safety record: zero fatalities. Equipment inspected daily. You are harnessed at ankles (classic) or body (less intense). The platform extends over a gorge — you see rocks below. The free fall lasts 3-4 seconds before the cord catches.
What They Don't Tell You
The drive from Rishikesh to Mohan Chatti is 25km and takes 45 minutes on winding mountain roads. If you get carsick, take a pill before. The walk from parking to the platform is 800m uphill.
You will wait 1-3 hours. They process 80-100 jumps per day. Book the first slot (9 AM) to minimize wait. Weekends are significantly worse.
The video package (Rs 1,500 extra) is worth it. You will not remember the jump clearly — adrenaline erases memory. The video is how you relive it.
Cost and Booking
Bungee: Rs 3,550. Giant Swing: Rs 3,550. Flying Fox: Rs 2,000. Combo: Rs 7,000. Book online at jumpingheights.com — walk-ins accepted but wait times double.
Best Months
Year-round except monsoon (July-August) when operations may pause. October-March is ideal — clear skies, comfortable temperature, drier conditions.
Who Should Not Jump
Weight limit: 40-110kg. Age: 12+. No pregnant women, no heart conditions, no recent surgeries. If you have genuine acrophobia (not just mild fear of heights), this will not cure it — it will make it worse.
