Winter fog rolls in from the plains, sometimes blanketing the lower terraces until mid-morning and giving the Mughal garden an almost spectral quality. When it lifts, cold 5-18°C sunshine illuminates winter flowers — pansies, calendulas, chrysanthemums — planted in the formal beds. The garden is atmospheric and quiet, the Shivalik foothills a faint outline.
