March stirs Dhanaulti to life. Rhododendrons begin blooming at higher elevations, temperatures reach 6-16°C, and the Eco Parks prepare for season opening. The deodar forests smell of warming resin, and weekend visitors from Dehradun make their first appearances.

No food is sold inside the parks — eat before entering or at the carts opposite the gate. Cash only at most stalls; the bhutta vendor at the parking lot does the freshest sweet corn (October-March).

Open till 11pm — one of the few places in town that serves dinner past 10. The Continental items are hit-or-miss; stick to the Chinese wok dishes which the kitchen does cleanly.

Kitchen closes at 11pm, but tandoor goes off at 9:30pm. Order the chowmein-tandoori combo if travelling with kids — it's the only menu sweet spot for fussy eaters.
