Minicoy in January is the chain's most culturally distinct island at peak conditions. These are family teashops without standardised signage — ask at any village shopfront for "tea and roshi". Open roughly 7am-9am for breakfast and 4pm-6pm for the afternoon tea slot. Friday hours suspended around prayer time. No tourists-specific menu — eat what the family is eating that hour.

Order the Mahl tuna curry and roshi together — roshi is freshly cooked on a tava, served warm only. Smoked tuna here is the same Maldivian-style cure produced at the tuna factory (1km away), processed and finished in-house. No alcohol. UPI works on island 4G; cash backup recommended.
