Day visitors can request lunch by prior arrangement only — call ahead. The Milky Way dinner runs on clear nights post-October when the sanctuary's no-light bylaw makes the sky non-negotiable.

The dining room is cantilevered out over the hillside — request the corner table closest to the glass wall for the Nanda Devi line at sunset. Non-residents are very rarely accommodated; book dining only as part of a stay.

The estate is pure-vegetarian by house rule — don't ask for chicken. Sit on the lawn for breakfast: you get the snow line of Nanda Devi without leaving your chair.

Non-members can dine here on prior request — easier than at Mary Budden or The Kumaon, and the Kumaoni thali is the order to make. The Golden Oak lounge-bar is the only proper bar inside the sanctuary belt.
