Puri में कहाँ रुकें

  • Toshali Sands Nature Resort

    ₹₹₹
resort · Konark Marine Drive, Puri — a low-rise garden resort on the Puri-Konark road

An 'ethnic village' resort set in broad lawns and gardens on the marine drive between Puri and Konark — cottages, an outdoor pool and quiet grounds away from the town crush. A good base for couples and families who want a beach holiday with space.

  • Panthanivas Puri (OTDC)

    ₹₹
government-guesthouse · Chakratirtha Road, Puri — the OTDC state-tourism hotel near the sea beach

The Odisha Tourism Development Corporation's Puri property — 52 rooms with an AC restaurant, bar and conference hall, on Chakratirtha Road close to the beach. A dependable government-rate base for pilgrims and budget travellers; books out well ahead during Rath Yatra.

  • Chanakya BNR Hotel

    ₹₹₹
heritage-hotel · Chakratirtha Road, Puri — a colonial-era railway hotel facing the sea

A genuine piece of railway heritage — the former Bengal Nagpur Railway hotel, now restored with old-world verandahs, high ceilings, a pool and sweeping sea-facing terraces. Tripadvisor reviewers consistently praise the warm service and the family-friendly heritage atmosphere.

  • Ananda Bazar (Jagannath Temple Mahaprasad)

    लीजेंडरी
Inside Jagannath Temple, Bada Danda · ₹

सिग्नेचरSankudi Mahaprasad — rice, dal, dalma and saaga eaten seated on the floor off a leaf

Mahaprasad is freshest after roughly 2pm when the bhog cycle has been offered; come hungry but expect to sit on the floor and eat off a leaf — that is the correct way. Non-Hindus are not permitted inside the temple, so cannot reach Ananda Bazar; sealed Mahaprasad and khaja are available from shops on Grand Road instead. Carry small cash; no cards.

  • Grand Road Khaja Shops (Bada Danda cluster)

    लीजेंडरी
Bada Danda (Grand Road) · ₹

सिग्नेचरPuri khaja — crisp, multi-layered deep-fried pastry soaked in sugar syrup

Buy khaja fresh and still slightly warm from a busy shop on Grand Road rather than pre-packed boxes — it stays crisp only a few days. Shops near Bagala Dharmasala and Swargadwara are the established clusters. It travels well as a gift but eat it within the week.

  • Chung Wah Restaurant

VIP Road (Hotel Lee Garden) · ₹₹

सिग्नेचरSichuan chicken and Hakka chow mein — Puri's oldest Chinese kitchen

It is a long-standing local institution rather than a flashy place — go for the noodles and Sichuan chicken, which have stayed consistent for decades. Located on VIP Road on the way towards the beach; pair it with a stop at Wildgrass next door for two contrasting cuisines.

  • Chanakya BNR Hotel — The Dining Car

    Chakratirtha Road · ₹₹₹

    सिग्नेचरMulti-cuisine dining in a colonial railway-heritage hotel

The heritage building and lawns are part of the experience — come for an unhurried lunch rather than a quick bite. Non-residents can dine here; reserve ahead in peak pilgrimage season. Pricier than the CT Road cafes but the comfort and hygiene are hotel-grade.
