Dzongu is a protected reserve of the Lepcha — Sikkim's indigenous people — set across the hills north-west of Mangan. Closed to outsiders without a permit, it is a landscape of cardamom terraces, waterfalls and hot springs, visited mainly through Lepcha-run homestays. It borders Khangchendzonga National Park.
