Dambuk is a small Idu Mishmi village in the Dibang Valley, known for two things: its Jampani oranges (which produce one of India's best-regarded orange crops between November and February), and the Orange Festival of Adventure and Music, held every December — a three-day festival of live music, off-road rallies, and kayaking that draws visitors into one of the least-visited corners of the Northeast. Outside the festival, Dambuk is a genuinely quiet place — dirt roads, riverside orange groves, and the Dibang flowing wide and grey through the valley.

Dambuk is a small Idu Mishmi village in the Dibang Valley, known for two things: its Jampani oranges (which produce one of India's best-regarded orange crops between November and February), and the Orange Festival of Adventure and Music, held every December — a three-day festival of live music, off-road rallies, and kayaking that draws visitors into one of the least-visited corners of the Northeast. Outside the festival, Dambuk is a genuinely quiet place — dirt roads, riverside orange groves, and the Dibang flowing wide and grey through the valley.

At 2,655m, Mayodia sees genuine snowfall Dec-Feb — rare for a pass this low, courtesy of the Arunachal monsoon moisture. One of the few places in lowland Arunachal where you can play in snow.
Freshwater lake in thick forest near Roing. Birding and half-day boat rides. Good morning detour if you're basing in Roing for the Orange Festival weekend.
India's oldest archaeological site in the eastern Himalayas, tentatively 8th century, with brick-built ruins of three halls, two extension rooms, and six entrances across 1860 sq m. For the Idu Mishmi tribe the fort is sacred — they trace descent from Rukmini, daughter of King Bhismaka, who married Krishna in the Mahabharata. ASI-protected since 1995.

Orange Festival मौसम (दिसंबर) के बाहर दम्बुक में कोई स्वतंत्र रेस्तरां नहीं है — सभी गर्म भोजन होमस्टे नेटवर्क के माध्यम से चलते हैं। मेज़बान पारंपरिक Idu Mishmi पकाते हैं: चूल्हे के ऊपर रैक पर धुएँ में भुना पोर्क, सरसों की पत्ती के साथ बाँस के अंकुर की करी, बाँस के कपों में अपोंग (बाजरे की बियर), पत्तियों में भाप से पकाया चिपचिपा चावल। होमस्टे के माध्यम से बुक किया जाता है, सीधे नहीं।
Tip: अगर पूरा Idu Mishmi भोजन चाहते हैं तो एक रात पहले होमस्टे मेज़बान से पूछें — अधिकांश बिना संकेत के सामान्य रोज़ का खाना पकाते हैं। दिसंबर उत्सव में कीमत दोगुनी; जनवरी-नवंबर में प्रति भोजन ₹200-300 रहता है।
