Singalila Ridge Trek is a moderate 5-day, 45 km trek, topping out at 3,636 m. The route takes in Continuous Kanchenjunga range views for 5 days; Rhododendron forests in spectacular spring bloom; Walk along India-Nepal border ridge; Comfortable trekkers' huts along the route. Best months: March–May and October–November. Watch points: Altitude sickness possible above 3000m; cold temperatures at ridge camps (below -5°C in winter); permits required for Singalila National Park. Fitness level: intermediate, permits required, not recommended for children under 14. Nearest hospital: Darjeeling District Hospital — 60km from Manebhanjan, 3 hours. Basic first aid at Sandakphu. Network coverage: Patchy Airtel/Jio at Tumling and Sandakphu. No coverage between stops.
