Sandakphu Trek
Sandakphu Trek is a moderate 4-day, 51 km trek, topping out at 3,636 m. The route takes in Four of world's five highest peaks visible from summit; Sleeping Buddha silhouette of Kanchenjunga at sunrise; Rhododendron forests in full bloom (April); Walk along India-Nepal border ridge. Best months: March–May and October–November. Watch points: Singalila National Park permit required; trek crosses into Nepal briefly — carry ID proof; leeches during monsoon (avoid July-September). Fitness level: moderate, permits required, not recommended for children under 14. Nearest hospital: Darjeeling District Hospital — 26km from Manebhanjan, 1 hour by road. Network coverage: Jio/Airtel work at Tumling (weak). No network at Kalipokhri. Intermittent at Sandakphu summit. BSNL best.

Sandakphu Summit Lodge
3,636mGTA hut and private lodges. Basic rooms with beds. Dining hall. Toilet available. No hot water.
Cost Estimate
Budget = GTA huts (Rs 200/night) + meals at huts (Rs 300/day) + guide (Rs 800/day). Operators include Darjeeling pickup, guide, porter, hut bookings, all meals — Rs 10000-14000/person.
