The route takes in Crescent-shaped turquoise lake at 4300m; Perfect mountain reflections in still morning water; Stark Spiti landscape — feels like another planet; One of India's highest accessible lakes. Best months: June–September. Watch points: High altitude — acclimatize in Kaza for 2 days minimum before visiting; aMS risk is real even for a short walk — descend immediately if headache/nausea; road to parking lot is rough and only open June-September. Fitness level: moderate, not recommended for children under 14. Nearest hospital: Community Health Center Kaza — 70km, 3 hours by road. For serious cases, Rampur Hospital 200km. Network coverage: No mobile network at Chandra Tal. BSNL occasionally works at Batal. Kaza has BSNL coverage.
