Why it mattersShringa Rishi (sage Shringi from the Ramayana) is the presiding deity of Banjar; the fair brings together villages across the Tirthan-Banjar belt.
April is prime Jibhi. The waterfalls are at good flow from snowmelt, temperatures sit at 10-22°C, wildflowers appear on the hillsides, and the Tirthan River is perfect for trout fishing (permit from GHNP office, ₹100-200).
