Ladakh · Changthang / SE Ladakh · 4,522m🚗 4WD required — extremely remote, high altitude
👨👩👧 Family: not recommended for young kids — extreme altitude, zero facilities
Pangong's quieter, wilder twin — where Changpa nomads graze pashmina goats and the lake reflects a sky nobody else is looking at.
Tso Moriri is less famous than Pangong but arguably more beautiful and definitely less crowded. Korzok village (4600m) on its shore is one of the highest inhabited settlements in India. Changpa nomads live in yak-hair tents nearby. Tso Kar (salt lake) is en route.
Infrastructure concerns
No hospital — nearest may be hours away
BSNL only — limited signal, no 4G data
