Long Island in September
Andaman & Nicobar Islands, India
Long Island in September is the slow tail of monsoon and the trip is mostly still impossible because the accommodations are not yet open. Rainfall drops to 290-340mm, mostly in the first half. The directorate of shipping ferry from Yerrata jetty restarts 1-2 weekly sailings from the third week. But both Pristine Beach Resort and Blue Planet Backpackers stay shut for the entire month - their reopening is targeted at October 5-12. The Lalaji Bay dinghy hop restarts in early October. There is no fallback accommodation; once you reach the island, sleeping is the problem. Mobile network unchanged - BSNL only at the jetty. Wait six weeks for November's clean opening.
