Bota Kol Trout Fish Farm (Asia's Largest).
Most visitors stop at the spring fountains and the JKTDC garden. The working trout farm — established 1984 with European Economic Community funding, declared Asia's largest by output in 2021 — is open to public viewing but signposting is thin.WHY NOBODY KNOWS
Walk past the spring discharge canal and you'll find the breeding raceways of the Bota Kol fish farm. The cold karst water (year-round 8-10°C) is why this is the rainbow-trout capital of Kashmir — the Fisheries Department runs guided 30-min tours including the hatchery and the brood-stock pond. Asking at the office gate usually gets you in for ₹50.
