Sitabani Buffer Zone.
Tour operators push the core-zone safaris; Sitabani has no hotel cluster and the buffer-zone safari isn't ticked off any standard 'Corbett' itinerary.WHY NOBODY KNOWS
A reserve forest in the Corbett landscape with an 18th-century temple at its core, dedicated to Sita — local belief is she spent part of her exile here with Luv and Kush. Unlike Dhikala or Bijrani, Sitabani sits outside the core zone: no tiger guarantee, but also no permit lottery, leopards and elephants regular, and the forest stays open through monsoon when the core zones close. Best: Open year-round — uniquely useful Jul-Sep when core zones close. Nov-Feb best for bird density.. Reach: 25km from Ramnagar via Teda Gate. Jeep safaris bookable on-site at the forest office or in advance via the Uttarakhand forest portal. No core permit needed.. Tip: Half-day safari ~Rs 3500-5000 per jeep (6 pax). Carry binoculars for birds — sightings of crested serpent eagles and great hornbills are regular. The temple is a separate stop, ASI-protected. Entry fee modest. Don't expect tiger sightings — go for the forest..
