Bon Monastery, Kewzing.
Kewzing village sits below the main Ravangla ridge; tour cars driving the Ralang circuit don't pass it. The Bon faith itself is older than Tibetan Buddhism and entirely off the standard Sikkim itinerary.WHY NOBODY KNOWS
One of only two Bon monasteries in India (the other is in Solan, Himachal). Founded in 1980 by Yung Dung Tsultrim, it teaches Yungdrung Bon to about 60 monk students from the surrounding villages. The murals run anti-clockwise — the opposite direction to Buddhist gompas — and the protector deities are pre-Buddhist.
