Arrive via Bagdogra airport (125km, 4h drive — the only way, no airport in Sikkim). Pakyong airport occasionally operational but unreliable. Check in. Rest. Mountain road drive is tiring.
MG Marg evening. Dinner.
Day 2Tsomgo Lake + Nathu La day
Leave 7am. Tsomgo (Changu) Lake at 3780m, 40km. Protected Area Permit required (apply day before via your hotel/tour operator, ₹200/person). Yak rides ₹300 (optional, touristy but fun). Lunch at Baba Mandir (dedicated to Baba Harbhajan Singh, an Indian soldier whose memorial is a Sikkim military legend).
NATHU LA OPTION (4310m, India-China border, Wed/Thu/Sat/Sun only, ₹1500+ permit per Indian citizen, closed to foreigners): additional 20km beyond Tsomgo. OR return to Gangtok for evening rest.
Dinner.
Day 3Rumtek + Tsuglakhang + exit
Rumtek Monastery deep visit.
Tsuglakhang Palace (Royal Chapel of Sikkim) + Do Drul Chorten. Depart for Bagdogra.
