September marks the monsoon's retreat from Kalpa. By the third week, the clouds lift to reveal Kinner Kailash with fresh snow — a dramatic reappearance after three months of hiding. The apple orchards begin showing colour: green fruit blushing red. The road from Shimla stabilises. Temperatures at 8-18°C are comfortable. The village prepares for harvest. Late September is one of Kalpa's finest windows.
