Beef biryani is the order here, not chicken — go before 2pm, the day's batch sells out. Finish with the milk sarbath. The restaurant is on AG Road near the Mathrubhumi office at Mananchira, not in Kuttichira; do not confuse it with the unrelated Sagar-Kuttichira listings.

The Kannur Road original is always packed 12.30-2.30pm and 8-9.30pm — go off-peak (3-4pm) or expect a queue. Order the fish pollichathu (seer fish in banana leaf) alongside the biryani; most first-timers only order biryani and miss the seafood the kitchen is equally known for.

Arrive by 4pm for the snack counter — that is when the full evening spread comes out and it sells fast. Dum biryani is served noon to 3pm only. The hotel is on Silk Street near the beach end, by the Corporation Office to Big Bazaar road.

Best for an early breakfast (opens around 7am) — masala dosa and filter coffee before the SM Street shops open. It is a no-frills cooperative cafe, not a destination meal; pair it with a halwa-shop crawl down nearby Mittai Theruvu.
