Stay in Trichy proper (12km — Sangam Hotel ₹2-3,500, Femina ₹1,800-3k, homestays ₹700-1,200). The Aadi-Perukku Cauvery-festival (Aug 3, the Cauvery-river celebration) is still six weeks away. October-March is dramatically better; June is wait-tier.
