Pool water reaches body temperature; heat makes sightseeing unbearable
May is Neemrana's hot month: 32-44°C. The fort's rooms, air-conditioned and thick-walled, become refuges. The pool is warm. Evenings are the only outdoor time. Delhi families come specifically for the pool-and-AC-room combination. Rates drop to annual lows outside holiday weekends.
The May story
May Neemrana is a value play. The fort hotel, which charges ₹8000-12000+ in winter, may drop to ₹4000-6000 in May. The experience—same fort, same rooms, same sunset, same pool—is identical. The zip-line runs at dawn (6-7 AM) when temperatures allow. The fort's indoor spaces—the Durbar Hall, the library, the covered arcade restaurants—become the experience. There is an honest luxury to being in a 560-year-old fort during Indian summer: thick stone walls, high ceilings, a cold pool waiting outside, and nowhere you need to be. The drive from Delhi should include a stop at the highway dhabas for chole bhature or dal makhani—NH48 has some of North India's best roadside food.
