Marine National Park in November
Gujarat, India
November is the full Marine NP restart — book Pirotan permits 48 hours ahead.
Peak crowds
November is one of Marine National Park's busiest months. The score rates conditions — weather, access, value — not how many people you'll share them with. Marine protected area; Nov–Feb is calm sea season for snorkelling; Jun–Sep monsoon/high sea closes it for months.
November opens Marine NP's full peak. The Arabian Sea is calm, low-tide reef walks at Narara at reliable peak visibility, Pirotan Island day boats at full operations, and Khijadiya Bird Sanctuary at peak migratory density. The textbook restart.
The November story
November is Marine NP's full reopening. The Arabian Sea is at calm-water peak, tide tables return to predictable reliability, and the Narara Reef low-tide walks deliver their headline experience — octopus, sea-horses, pufferfish and sea anemones visible in tide pools, the only place in India where civilians can walk on a living coral reef. Forest Department permits remain a 48-hour-lead requirement. Pirotan Island day boats from Bedi Port operate at full capacity in calm November seas. Khijadiya Bird Sanctuary 12 km from Jamnagar is at peak migratory bird density — flamingos, pelicans, white storks, herons — for the November-February window. Daytime temperatures sit 20-32C with dry coastal air. Lakhota Lake palace in central Jamnagar walkable all day. Hotel Aram heritage and The Fern Residency hold reasonable availability with peak rates. The smart 3-night itinerary: Day 1 evening Khijadiya, Day 2 dawn Narara reef + midday rest + evening Lakhota Lake, Day 3 Pirotan Island day boat. Combine with Bhuj (240 km north) or Dwarka (200 km southwest) for a wider Saurashtra coast arc.
