Prashar Lake & 13th-Century Pagoda Temple.
Mandi is a transit town on the Manali highway. Prashar sits in a side valley off the Joginder Nagar road, accessible only via a rough mountain road through Baggi village, and most travellers do not budget the half-day required to do it properly.WHY NOBODY KNOWS
A small high-altitude lake at 2730 m with a floating reed island that genuinely drifts around the surface - locals say it shifts to mark seasons. Beside it, a 13th-century three-storey pagoda temple in Pahari style honours the sage Prashar (who is said to have meditated here), with dense wood carvings on the upper tiers. Surrounded by Dhauladhar peaks; easy to make it a sunrise visit if you camp at Baggi.
