The only proper dining option within the Lothal catchment — an 18th-century Indo-Saracenic palace (formerly Utelia Palace) of the Vaghela Rajput rulers, 6 km from the Lothal Harappan site and 5 km from Lothal Burkhi railway station. The 32-seat dining hall serves Indian, regional Gujarati, Indian-Chinese, and Continental; folk-music performances run evenings.
Tip: Lothal itself has no food vendors or shops at the site — carry water and snacks if you're only doing a half-day Lothal trip from Ahmedabad. Hazur Palace is the only sit-down meal between Bagodara and the dig; call 24 hours ahead.
