The 16km Kumarakom-to-Kottayam route via NH-66 takes 30 minutes; Kottayam railway 30 minutes. Cochin International Airport 90km north (2.5 hours by NH-66). Lock premium resort rooms 5-7 weeks ahead from October. The first three weeks of December (before December 22) are the better-value window — peak weather minus peak rates.
