Bijli Mahadev Temple.
Kullu day-trippers run the Raghunath Temple, Akhara Bazaar, and Bhuntar airport-side stops then push on to Manali. Bijli Mahadev sits across the river on the eastern ridge at 2460 m, reached by a switchback drive to Chansari and then a steep half-hour climb, so it loses out to time.WHY NOBODY KNOWS
The lingam here is replaced every year by the temple priests because lightning (bijli) shatters it - the 18 m wooden flagstaff acts as the conductor that locals say earns the deity its blessings. View from the courtyard runs the full Kullu valley below and Parvati valley to the east, with Beas and Parvati visibly merging at Bhuntar. Working temple, modest crowd outside Shivratri.
