Valley of Flowers of the Northeast โ rolling green meadows, rare Dzukou Lily, and soul-stirring silence.
Why Special
Dzukou Valley sits at 2,452m on the Nagaland-Manipur border and is often called the "Valley of Flowers of Northeast India." The valley is carpeted with wildflowers, particularly the endemic Dzukou Lily (Lilium chitrangadae) found nowhere else on Earth, blooming June-July. The trek from Viswema village (20km round trip, moderate difficulty) takes 4-5 hours one way through dense forests. A basic rest house exists at the valley for overnight stays. The rolling green meadows surrounded by mountains are hauntingly beautiful. Best combined with Kohima trip.
