Oberoi Udaivilas

Set on the banks of Lake Pichola, the Oberoi Udaivilas spans 30 acres of manicured gardens designed in the style of a Mewari palace—carved stone columns, reflection pools, and courtyards frame every view of the lake. The 87 rooms and suites are set low to the gardens, many with private terraces or pools overlooking the water or the property's 20-acre wildlife conservatory (Indian spotted deer, wild boar, peacocks roam freely). The Kohinoor Suite includes separate bedrooms, a dining room, living room, and a private temperature-controlled pool. The Oberoi Spa occupies a 280-year-old Rajasthani haveli on the grounds. Dining includes Surya Mahal for international cuisine and Raj Mahal for refined Indian fare (October–April). The hotel is 35 minutes from Jaipur's city centre but feels entirely removed—water features and Rajasthani art echo throughout. Expect warm, attentive service and the first Oberoi Vilas prototype (other properties copied its formula). Peak season runs October–March; mid-season rates drop significantly June–August.
