Subarnarekha River Estuary & Sandbar Crossing.
The Subarnarekha River (literally "streak of gold" — the only Indian river with that name, sourced from Chotanagpur Plateau) empties into the Bay of Bengal right at Talasari. Most beach-day visitors never cross the estuary to the seaward sandbar.WHY NOBODY KNOWS
During monsoon (Jul-Sep) the estuary swells and a small boat crossing is required to reach Talasari beach proper — the river-meets-sea geography produces a 2km-long sandbar of glittering gold-mica sand at low tide. Casuarina groves on the seaward side, red crabs at sunset, almost zero tourists outside Kolkata weekenders. See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talasari_Beach
