Ramkinkar Baij's 1938 'Santhal Family' and 'Mill Call' stand in the open here — concrete-and-pebble figures that pre-date Henry Moore's similar idiom by years. The whole Visva-Bharati art faculty doubles as a sculpture park with works by Nandalal Bose and Benode Bihari Mukherjee on the lawns and corridor walls. Best: Nov-Feb; weekday mornings 9-11am avoid student footfall. Reach: On the Visva-Bharati campus, 600 m from Uttarayan Complex; cycle-rickshaw from Bolpur station 3 km.. Tip: Photography of sculptures is fine outdoors but the indoor mural rooms are restricted — leave the camera at the door..
