Mollem (Bhagwan Mahavir Sanctuary)
Goa · Goan Hinterland · 80m
Goa's largest wildlife sanctuary — Tambdi Surla temple, Dudhsagar gateway, and 240 sq km of Western Ghats
Why Special
Bhagwan Mahavir Wildlife Sanctuary (240 sq km) is Goa's largest protected area — the gateway to Dudhsagar Falls and home to Tambdi Surla Temple, Goa's oldest temple (12th century Kadamba dynasty). The sanctuary has leopards, sloth bears, king cobras, and 200+ bird species. Tambdi Surla is unique — a perfectly preserved Hemadpanthi temple deep in the forest, reached by a scenic drive.
