Sharad Purnima moonlight boating at Marble Rocks.
Marble Rocks boating shuts at 7pm every other day of the year — but on the full-moon night of Sharad Purnima (Kojagari, Oct-Nov), Madhya Pradesh Tourism extends boats until midnight. The marble cliffs in moonlight is a once-a-year-only experience and even most locals from Jabalpur city don't book the slot. Boats fill 3 days in advance.WHY NOBODY KNOWS
Bhedaghat is the ONLY 100-foot marble-cliff gorge anywhere along the Narmada's 1,312 km course — the river narrows to a 5km stretch where the rocks reflect different shades by sun-angle (white, pink, blue). On Sharad Purnima night the moon-rays hit the cliffs directly and the gorge glows silver. Standard manual rowboat ₹50-100/head; motorised ₹100-150. The Kojagari devotional belief: the moon showers amrit (nectar) on earth that night, and boating in the gorge is healing. Floodlit night-service is a Sharad Purnima-only feature — also offered ad-hoc on Kartik Purnima in late Nov.
